El suplemento alimenticio Zein Pharma D-Mannose 100 g es un producto formulado de manera sencilla con D-Manosa. No contiene aditivos artificiales ni alérgenos como gluten, lactosa o soja. Puede ser utilizado por veganos y vegetarianos.

D-Manosa es un compuesto químico orgánico perteneciente a la familia de los azúcares. En la naturaleza se encuentra en forma de mananos, que por ejemplo están presentes en plantas. Sin embargo, no es un azúcar común. En forma de polvo es muy soluble en agua.

Debido a sus propiedades bajas en calorías y no tóxicas, la D-Manosa está ampliamente utilizada en las industrias alimentaria, médica, cosmética y de aditivos alimentarios. Se usa como materia prima para la síntesis de sustancias inmunoestimulantes, vitaminas o D-Manitol [1].

Curiosamente, se están realizando numerosos estudios sobre el uso de la D-Manosa como profilaxis contra infecciones del tracto urinario. Se ha observado un efecto profiláctico de este azúcar en mujeres con infecciones urinarias recurrentes. [2]
