The prickly pear is a species of prickly pear native to Mexico but also cultivated in many cultures other warm climate countries, including southern Europe.
Easily adapts to different soil conditions. The Aztecs considered it a sacred plant and used it for various purposes. According to literature, prickly pear flower tea has a slimming effect and reduces the amount of fats ingested.
