DESCRIPTION:
L-Citrulline is a precursor of L-arginine, which plays an important role in the production of nitric oxide (NO) in the body.
L-Citrulline is an amino acid consisting of three functional groups: an amino group (-NH2), a carboxyl group (-COOH), and a side chain containing a citrulline residue. It is a non-protein amino acid, meaning it is not a component of proteins, but can play an important role in metabolic processes. L-Citrulline occurs naturally in certain foods such as watermelons (where the L-citrulline content is particularly high), pumpkins, melons, and other fruits. It can also be produced by living organisms through the process of biosynthesis.
