Eleutherococcus root – the name appears in the register of Chinese medicinal plants in one of the first places. Common names: Siberian Ginseng, Siberian Ginseng or Eleuthero Ginseng. It has an adaptogenic effect, meaning it increases resistance to unfavorable environmental factors (increases the body's tolerance to these factors) and strengthens the body's adaptability to the environment. Eleutherococcus supports learning and memory processes. Eleuthero Ginseng is rich in phytosterols, a lipotropic factor that regulates fat metabolism.

Eleutherococcus extracts are added to cosmetics to increase the skin's resistance to infections (immunostimulation) and to activate the adaptogenic and anti-stress capabilities of the skin. The estrogenic activity of Eleuthero undoubtedly improves the condition and appearance of the skin and blocks the harmful effects of androgens on the skin and hair. Increases skin smoothness, elasticity, and moisture. Reduces the symptoms of androgenic acne and stress acne (including neurogenic acne). Prevents hair loss (anti-androgenic effect on the skin).

Eleutherococcus is beneficial for physical performance and mental function, with fatigue, intense mental and physical work.

Eleutherococcus occurs in Asia, mainly in the northeast. It is cultivated on an industrial scale in China and Russia. Roots contain 0.6–0.9% eleutherosides and shoots 0.6–1.5%. Eleutheroside A is a sterol – Daucosterol. Eleutheroside B is the phenylpropanoid Syringin. Eleutheroside B1 is Isofraxidin-glycoside (Isofraxidin-7-O-alpha-L-glucoside), also called Beta-Calicanthoside; Eleutheroside B2 has coumarin character; Eleutheroside B4 – (-)Sesamin (Sesamin); Eleutheroside D is Syringaresinolglycoside ((-)-Syringaresinol-di-O-beta-D-glucoside); Eleutheroside E, also called Acanthoside D, has lignan character. Eleutherosides I and M are triterpene saponins: Eleutheroside I is Musenin B (Mussenin B); Eleutheroside M is Hederasaponin. AF-Senticosides are derivatives of oleanolic acid. The raw material contains caffeic acid, ethyl caffeate, coniferyl aldehyde, sinapyl alcohol, beta-sitosterol, beta-carotene, vitamin E (tocopherols), sugars (galactose, arabinose, beta-maltose, alpha- and beta-glucose, sucrose).
