DESCRIPTION:

Lomatium root (Lomatium dissectum), also known as desert parsley, Ferula dissoluta, giant lomatium, giant parsley, Indian parsley, Leptotaenia dissecta, Toza, and wild carrot. The Lomatium root is one of the largest from the desert parsley family. Many Western Native American tribes used it as a food source. One tribe is known to have even prepared a beverage from the cooked roots.

TheLomatium root is native from British Columbia and Saskatchewan in the south to California and New Mexico, and east to Wyoming and Colorado. Flowering Lomatium plants grow about one meter tall and are almost leafless. Some desert parsley plants resemble the Lomatium plant, but the Lomatium root has a unique scent.
