Digestive enzymes support the digestive processes, making it easier for the body to absorb nutrients. The enzyme complex Digezyme® consists of a protease, an enzyme of bacterial origin, and α-amylase, lipase, lactase and cellulase obtained from fungi. The enzyme α-amylase hydrolyzes starch and other polysaccharides. Protease is responsible for breaking down proteins and peptides into smaller units. Lipase breaks down fats. Lactase is responsible for breaking down lactose while cellulase breaks down cellulose.
