Wormwood - Properties
This plant is characterized by a number of positive properties for the human body. Primarily, it has diastolic, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory effects and stimulates bile secretion. For this reason, wormwood is excellent for all complaints related to the digestive system. It helps especially with digestive disorders, all types of gastritis, and symptoms indicating dysfunction of the digestive system, such as heartburn, bloating, heaviness in the stomach, or belching. Its use is also recommended for liver and gallbladder problems, as it supports the flow of bile into the duodenum.
Wormwood for women's ailments
The Latin name of wormwood is Artemisia. This is a deliberate reference to Artemisia, the virgin goddess of the hunt, women, and childbirth. In the past, wormwood was commonly called "maiden herb" or "old woman's herb" because wormwood regulates uterine contractions very well. Therefore, it is recommended in herbal medicine for menstrual complaints.
