We present various uses of castor oil that can be easily integrated into your daily care routine.

How does castor oil affect hair?

The ingredients contained in castor oil perfectly support the care of hair, skin, and nails. The most important of these is certainly the fatty acid glyceride, which determines the moisturizing properties for which cosmetic castor oil is valued. In addition to the aforementioned substance, the oil also contains glycerides of palmitic, stearic, and oleic acids.

Regular use of castor oil helps regenerate damaged hair. Brittle and dry hair can gradually be moisturized and regain a healthy shine. Applied to the scalp, it helps combat these problems and stimulates the growth of the bulbs. For this reason, cosmetic castor oil is used to care for eyebrows and eyelashes, strengthening the hair and gradually stimulating its growth. During the procedure, it's worth using a spiral brush and applying the oil carefully to avoid getting it into the eyes.

Castor oil also contains antioxidant substances that help slow the effects of oxidative stress. This delays the breakdown of cell walls, thus helping to maintain healthy skin and hair.

The oil also has a similar effect on brittle nails. Regularly oiling the nail plate can help restore its healthy color and even structure, making it less brittle and prone to splitting.

Cosmetic castor oil for facial care

In addition to applying it to your hair, castor oil is also suitable as a facial care product. Just like other thick and fatty oils, you can incorporate it into your daily routine by using it:

• directly onto cleansed facial skin;
• Mix a few drops of oil with your favorite hyaluronic acid-based cream or serum;
• together with other oils - hemp, argan or sweet almond.

It is a versatile product, which is why it is also ideal for making a mask (e.g. in combination with your favorite clay) and, due to its thick consistency, also good for facial massage (with your fingers or a special roller).

Castor oil can be used to care for acne-prone skin (due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties) and skin with discoloration. At the same time, either alone or in combination with other oils, it greatly facilitates makeup removal and thoroughly cleanses the skin's pores. This allows the skin to gradually regain elasticity, and redness and changes are gradually reduced.
