Piperin - lernen Sie die gesundheitsfördernden Eigenschaften von schwarzem Pfeffer kennen

Brought from faraway India, it is said to have appeared in Europe around the 6th - 5th century BC and is still called the "King of Spices" today. Its flavor and health-promoting properties were already praised in ancient Rome. Pepper, since we're talking about it, has become one of the most valued and popular spices around the world. These small black balls are an indispensable part of kitchens and dishes. The most commonly used black pepper is "nigri" or "piper nigrum." The alkaloid, a chemical compound called piperine, is responsible for its burning, pungent, and unique flavor. And although the flavor qualities of pepper have been known to everyone around the world for centuries, piperine has only recently become available for a relatively short time in the form of a dietary supplement with properties that support our health and maintain our figure.

Properties of Piperine

In traditional Far Eastern medicine, piperine was used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. This chemical compound is found in large quantities in black pepper, then in white pepper, and then in colored pepper. Today, consuming piperine-containing supplements can have a positive effect on our bodies. Piperine is a substance with the following effects:

  • Support of the nervous system,
  • antibacterial, analgesic and anti-inflammatory,
  • Cleansing the body,
  • diuretic,
  • Acceleration of metabolism,
  • improves blood circulation,
  • improves the absorption of vitamins and minerals,
  • Support for weight loss.

Piperine has been shown to promote melanocyte proliferation, which can be helpful in the fight against vitiligo. Piperine is also an effective aid in the fight against unnecessary calories. In addition to its positive effects on metabolism and cleansing properties, it enhances the body's heat production process, which allows our body to burn calories. This is known as thermogenesis. Piperine also promotes another process, lipolysis, which burns fat. However, it should be noted that taking supplements alone does not act as a medicine, but rather supports the weight loss process, an important component of which is a healthy diet and physical activity.

Piperine - Side Effects

When consumed in moderation, piperine should not have a negative effect on our body, but excessive consumption of black pepper can lead to irritation of the throat mucosa and the entire digestive system.

Piperine - Contraindications

Supplements containing piperine may interact with other medications. Therefore, if you take chronic medications or use multiple supplements, consult your doctor before adding piperine. Piperine should also be avoided by people suffering from stomach ulcers and heartburn.
