DESCRIPTION

Calcium citrate is the most potent and easily absorbed form of calcium. Since it is acidic itself, it does not require additional acids and can also be taken between meals. The fundamental role of calcium in the body is related to the formation and regeneration of bones and teeth. Twenty percent of the calcium in adult human bones is reabsorbed and replaced each year. A sufficient amount of vitamin D is required for effective absorption of calcium from the gastrointestinal tract.
In addition, vitamin D is responsible for the proper development and mineralization of bones. It plays an important role in regulating calcium-phosphorus metabolism in the body. It increases the absorption of these elements from the gastrointestinal tract and compensates for any abnormal calcium to phosphorus ratios. It is necessary in ossification processes (it facilitates the conversion of organic to inorganic phosphorus) and in the formation of compounds needed for bone formation.
