Ashwagandha KSM-66 is not extracted from the leaves

Research focuses on the roots, not the leaves, of ashwagandha. Ayurvedic practitioners only use the root for its beneficial adaptogenic properties, which have been known for thousands of years. In traditional medicine, Ashwagandha leaves are mainly used externally.

Why only roots?

Most of the published research has been done on the properties of ashwagandha root, not ashwagandha leaves.
Ashwagandha root has long been consumed by people and is considered to be much safer compared to ashwagandha leaves
In some European countries, only ashwagandha root extract is allowed, not leaves
