Punarnava primarily supports the urinary tract, kidneys and joints.

It rejuvenates the body, regenerates cells and tissues, has diuretic and cardiotonic properties.

Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa) means “the renewing one” in Sanskrit. This is due to its cell and tissue regenerating effect. Opens and cleans the channels, facilitating the access of nutrients to specific tissues.

This plant is native to India, Sri Lanka and the South Pacific islands.
Boerhavia diffusa can be used in its entirety. In India, leaves and stems are used in the preparation of many products such as teas, oils, and pulp for topical use. Often the leaves are treated like a vegetable and added to a variety of dishes. The root of this plant is used in Ayurvedic medicine.
