Rosenwasser? Wofür ist es, wie benutzt man es?

Damascus rose, centifolia rose, or French rose. The names sound as elegant as these beautiful flowers look. It turns out that rose water is made from them. This water exudes a beautiful, warm, and honey-like aroma. In addition to its fragrance, the product is also very effective in body care; it also has health-promoting properties thanks to the fact that it contains water-soluble particles of plant matter. Where does rose water come from? This is a kind of "side effect" of rose oil production; it is formed during hydrodistillation.

Properties of rose water

Rose water can be used successfully in daily care. As a facial toner, it tones, moisturizes, and smooths the skin, restoring its natural balance. Rose water is also a natural anti-wrinkle cosmetic. A very important feature of the preparation is its non-irritating nature, meaning it can be used by people with sensitive skin. Furthermore, rose-based water can even soothe acne lesions, and if we use drying anti-acne treatments, it will be their perfect complement.

The positive properties of rose water are worth highlighting:

  • refreshed,
  • cleanses the skin,
  • sounds,
  • regulates sebum secretion,
  • gives the skin shine,
  • moisturizes the skin and restores its natural balance,
  • regenerates sensitive, dry and cracked skin,
  • is valued for its rejuvenating properties.

How to use rose water ?

Rose water is most commonly used in cosmetics. It is used to make facial toners that can be used after removing makeup. Rose water-based toners have a moisturizing effect and are extremely gentle on the skin. Rose water can even be used several times a day by spraying it on the face. Then our skin will improve. Water also gives the skin firmness and elasticity. This is because it contains vitamin C and beta-carotene. They are responsible for stimulating collagen fibers. More collagen, fewer wrinkles. For this reason, rose water is a common ingredient in cosmetics for mature skin, as it has anti-wrinkle properties.

Not just for a better complexion... rose water is also used in hair care. Cosmetics containing it nourish the scalp, strengthen the hair bulbs, and prevent them from falling out.

The beneficial properties of rose water don't end there. You can also make compresses for the eyelids when we feel tired, and for reddened conjunctiva. Rose water is also used in the manufacture of toothpaste and mouthwashes. This is due to its anti-inflammatory properties. The water can also be used to prepare a compress for headaches or to relieve itching and redness after a mosquito bite.
