Spirulina - zur Stärkung des Körpers, für Sportler und aktive Menschen

Spirulina is known as "milk from Mother Earth" and has unique properties that support human health. This blue-green seaweed is cultivated in specially selected locations. Cultivation must take place under particularly favorable environmental and climatic conditions. Regions that meet the conditions for algae cultivation include China, India, Taiwan, Japan, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Chad region.

What is Spirulina ?

Although there are records of spirulina being consumed by the Aztecs, research only began in the 1970s, revealing a number of health-promoting properties of the algae. Today, spirulina has achieved superfood status. Its nutritional values are a veritable bomb of health-promoting ingredients, including:

  • Carbohydrates,
  • complete protein - contains all essential amino acids,
  • unsaturated fatty acids - including a very rare and extremely valuable gamma-linolenic acid,
  • Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B7, B9, C, E,
  • Minerals - Iron, Potassium, Magnesium, Sodium, Zinc,
  • Phytonutrients - chlorophyll, c - phycocyanin, zeaxanthin and lutein.

"Green meat"? Exceptional protein richness in spirulina

Algae contain unprecedented amounts of high-quality protein. Spirulina is therefore called "green meat." Interestingly, the protein content in algae is up to three times higher than in meat. Studies have shown that spirulina contains up to 18 amino acids, 8 of which are essential amino acids that make up the protein structure. It should be noted that no other known food product has such a high protein concentration. In addition to being the building blocks of muscle, amino acids also balance blood sugar levels and accelerate recovery.

What properties does Spirulina have?

Spirulina can be taken in several ways. It's available in tablet form and as a powder that can be added to mixed drinks, bread, and other dishes. Due to its unusual properties, it's recommended to include seaweed in your diet. How Spirulina can help:

  • Lowers blood pressure – The phycocyanin contained in algae has blood pressure-lowering properties. Research is ongoing in this area, as spirulina has great potential in combating cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
  • Increases immune system resistance - Years of research have led scientists to conclude that spirulina improves immune system performance, supports the heart, lowers cholesterol levels, and strengthens the digestive system. Gamma-linolenic acid plays a major role in this.
  • Adds energy - vitalizing ingredients as well as biophotons (particles in which the algae have collected solar energy) also give spirulina vitality and improve the psychophysical condition.
  • Reduces sinus problems - Gamma-linolenic acid also has properties that help fight allergic rhinitis. Sources show that seaweed reduces inflammation.
